Fake ID Scam: Thousands Of Dollars Swindled From Fairfield County Resident, Police Say
A man has been charged with larceny and identity theft after allegedly using a fake ID to steal more than $20,000 from a Fairfield County resident.
Archie Longson, age 44, of New York City, was arrested by Wilton Police on Monday, March 27 on a warrant.
The victim first learned of the crime in April 2022, when they found two fraudulent transactions on their bank account for a total of $20,500; a withdrawal of $8,000 was also made at a bank in Connecticut, and a bank check in the name of Longson was purchased for the amount of $12,500, said Capt. Gregg Phillipson, of the Wilton Police.

A South Boston man with a history of ties to violent gangs, including notorious mobster Whitey Bulger, picked up his second murder charge on Tuesday, March 28, authorities said. Both killings are more than 30 years old.
Michael Lewis, 62, who is being held on a 1984 murder charge, was indicted in the killing of a Boston Housing Authority supervisor in South Boston in April 1993, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said.

Police arrested a man who they say killed a 21-year-old Springfield man and a Maine teenager inside a small home in Poland, Maine, last week.
Shoeb Mohamed Adan, of Springfield, and Mohamed Aden, 16, of Lewiston, Maine, were found dead at the 205 Tripp Lake Road home on Feb. 22, the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department said. Deputies were responding to a welfare call when they found the bodies inside.
