Ricardo The NJ Transit Bull Returning Home Following Six-Week Hospital Stay Ricardo, the bull that captured the Garden State's attention after it wandered onto the train tracks in December, is returning to his home in Sussex County this week after battling a deadly infection for six weeks , his caretakers said. "We will be bringing our handsome boy home this week," Skylands Animal Sanctuary And Rescue in Wantage said on Facebook. "We can’t wait to have him back here at Skylands, where he belongs." The pedestrian was struck around 6:10 p.m. just west of the Morristown station by Morris & Essex Line train 6666, which left Dover at 5:50 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 7:14 p.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Ricardo The NJ Transit Bull On The Mend After Battling Deadly Infection Ricardo, the bull that captured the Garden State's attention after it wandered onto the train tracks last month, is recovering after battling a deadly infection, his caretakers said. Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Wantage said on Facebook they discovered Ricardo had road rash on his leg when they rescued him after his trip on the tracks. Ax-Wielding Man Pepper Sprayed By NJ Transit Police In Hoboken A 45-year-old man wielding an ax was pepper-sprayed by NJ Transit police officer at Hoboken Terminal on Wednesday, Oct. 25, authorities said. Joseph Dietz, of Hillsborough, was brandishing a large camping style ax and aggressively advancing toward a fleeing man, New Jersey Transit police said.  Officers positioned themselves between Dietz and the fleeing man, police said. Dietz refused to drop the ax, forcing officers to deploy pepper spray to deescalate the situation, police said. NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Jersey Shore A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt.  No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time. The train departed Long Branch at 7:10 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 8:41 a.m. Customers from train 3224 were being transferred to a following train.  New Jersey Transit Police are on scene leading the investigation.
