NTSB Releases Early Findings From Probe Into Mansfield Twp. Train Crash Involving Fallen Tree
A branch of a tree that had fallen on tracks broke through a New Jersey Transit train's windshield, killing the operator in Burlington County, officials said. The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary investigation into the Thursday, Oct. 15 crash. Jessica Haley, 41, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was the conductor who died south of the Roebling station in Mansfield Township. Hoboken PATH Station Closing In February For Repairs: Port Authoit
As part of a repair project, the Port Authority announced the PATH Hoboken station will be closed from Thursday, Jan. 30 to Tuesday, Feb. 25. The move comes as part of the agency's two-year $430 million PATH Forward program. A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Rahway, authorities said. The man was struck at 7:45 p.m. by Northeast Corridor train 3963, which had departed Penn Station New York at 7:12 p.m. and was set to arrive in Trenton at 8:36 p.m., NJ Transit said. A 13-year-old girl and her father were hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Rahway on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said.
