Victim, Suspect ID'd In Newport News Fatal Shooting That Stemmed From Road Rage
A suspect was arrested for shooting a 51-year-old woman to death in a Newport News parking lot, officials said.
On August 26, at around 1:30 p.m., officers arrived to a parking lot in the 300 Block of Oyster Point Road, where they found Crystal Mittelstadter, 51, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Newport News Police Department.
Mittelstadter was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities reported.
Law enforcement's initial investigation revealed that the incident actually began during a road rage incident between Mittlestadter and the suspect, officials said.

A motorcyclist was killed after being sideswiped by another car in Norfolk, police said.On August 25, at around 3 p.m., Steven Bullock, who was riding his motorcycle in the 2700 block of Tidewater Drive, was hit by another car, on the side of his bike, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
The impact of the collision sent the 48-year-old into a pole and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported.
At this time, law enforcement does not know whether speed and alcohol were factors in the incident.

A Norfolk man and woman were both convicted on Wednesday, August 3, of operating a meth house, officials said.
Along with firearms, Vicente Andres, 61, and Margaret Sutton, 51, stored and sold meth and marijuana in a house on Danwood Drive, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
After law enforcement issued a search warrant, officers found 10 pounds of pure methamphetamine, 10 pounds of marijuana, 3 firearms, and currency from the illegal sale of narcotics, officials reported.

Demetrius McGregor, 37, was sentenced on July 25 after his 2017 arrest in front of his Norfolk apartment, for his involvement in a suspected murder, according to the Department of Justice.
McGregor is no stranger to law enforcement, as he had been convicted nine times before this, for malicious and unlawful wounding, attempted robbery, and other related offenses, officials said.
