Man Rammed Estranged Wife With Car After Years Of Stalking, Threats: Schenectady County Jury
A Schenectady man was convicted of attempted murder after intentionally striking his estranged wife with his vehicle in what prosecutors called a deliberate act of violence. Sherifullah Hashimi, 62, was found guilty on seven counts in all, mostly felonies, by a Schenectady County jury on Monday, Feb. 3, according to the district attorney’s office. A four-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Route 9 in the Hudson Valley sent 11 students and several drivers to the hospital. The incident occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 4699 Post Road in Hyde Park. The family of the New Jersey Transit train operator killed by a fallen tree is planning to sue several organizations for negligence, an attorney said.
