Florida Man Caught Driving Stolen SUV In Palisades Park, Police Say
A Florida man is facing multiple charges after police say they found him driving a stolen SUV in Bergen County.
On Sunday, Aug. 24, at approximately 10:17 p.m., Ptl. Det. Michael McDermott conducted a motor vehicle stop on a white Honda CRV with Florida registration in Palisades Park, according to Police Chief George Beck.
Upon speaking with the driver, identified as Ken Fernandez, 36, of Hollywood, FL, Ptl. Det. McDermott noticed the driver’s door lock cylinder was missing, Beck said. The officer determined that multiple different VINs were on the vehicle, the chief noted.

A Philadelphia man is facing murder charges after fatally shooting another man during a dispute in East Lansdowne, police announced on Sunday, Sept. 7.
Marquise Rasheed Smith, 27, shot and killed Jermaine Richardson, of the 200 block of Blanchard Road in Upper Darby, during an altercation on the 100 block of Wildwood Avenue around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, according to East Lansdowne police.
Smith pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots into Richardson’s chest, causing his death, police explained.

On June 3, at approximately 10:09 p.m., Palisades Park police responded to Broad Avenue and East Brinkerhoff Avenue for a report of an armed robbery, according to Police Chief George Beck.

An Ephrata woman is accused of embezzling nearly $6,000 from a local Cub Scouting Pack’s accounts, police announced on Friday, Aug. 29.
Amy Jo Mody, 49, of Ephrata, was charged with one count of felony theft by unlawful taking after an investigation into financial discrepancies in the Cub Scouting Pack’s account, the Ephrata Police Department said.
