Woman Swings Wooden Object At Employee As Shoplifting Turns Violent In Nassau County
A Brooklyn woman is accused of turning a shoplifting attempt into a violent confrontation at an Inwood wholesale store, police announced on Friday, Jan. 9.
Tara Prentice, 38, of Brooklyn, was arrested after officers responded to a report of a larceny in progress at Bingo Wholesale on Burnside Avenue at 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, according to detectives.
Prentice attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise, investigators explained. When an employee confronted her, she allegedly became combative and swung a wooden object toward the worker, police detailed.
