Man Killed In Philadelphia Crash: Police A crash at Broad Street and Fairmount Avenue left a man dead in Philadelphia, police announced on Sunday, Sept. 21. An adult male was taken by PFD medics to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:39 p.m., authorities said. The crash was reported at 4:51 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, police said. The scene is being held, and the Crash Investigation Division is leading the case, according to police. The crash happened at 6:35 p.m. on the 6700 block of Frankford Avenue, authorities said. A 2012 Nissan Murano was turning left into the ShopRite lot when it hit the pedestrian, according to police. Philadelphia Fire Department medics rushed her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she died at 7:22 p.m. The driver remained at the scene as the Crash Investigation Division secured the area and began an investigation, police said.

Curious Cockapoo Caught Under Shed Rescued By Police In Greenburgh In Westchester, even the dogs keep police on their toes.  Officers were called out Monday, Sept. 15, to a backyard rescue in Greenburgh after a cockapoo got itself wedged under a shed while chasing another animal, according to the Town of Greenburgh Police Department. The adventurous pup apparently went all in on its hunt — only to discover there was no easy way back out. That’s when police stepped in. Working together, officers carefully freed the trapped dog and reunited it with its family, safe and sound, the department said.
