A man who police say drove at twice the speed limit has been charged with DUI and possession of narcotics in Darien. Darien Police say they observed a black Volkswagen Passat being driven at a high speed eastbound on Post Road in the area of Center Street on Saturday, Oct. 5 around 1:15 a.m. The vehicle’s speed measured 52 mph in a 25 mph zone, police say. A Stamford motorist caught swerving on I-95 has been charged with DUI, according to police. Darien Police say they observed the driver of a red Ford pickup truck traveling down the Exit 11 Northbound off-ramp on Saturday, Sept. 28 around 2:40 a.m. The driver failed to stop at a red light and then continued traveling across Post Road onto the Entrance 11 Northbound on-ramp, police say. A 27-year-old man has been charged with DUI after police say he was swerving on I-95. Darien Police say they observed a driver traveling in the left lane approaching Exit 13 on I-95 northbound on Sunday, Sept. 22 around 2:45 a.m. The driver allegedly swerved suddenly to the middle lane and back to the left lane several times without using a blinker and slowed from approximately 80 mph to 45 mph, police say.
