Minivan Overturns, Crashes Into Pole On Route 202 In Montebello (Update)
A crash that shut down part of Route 202 in Rockland County on Monday morning, Oct. 27, left one vehicle overturned and a utility pole snapped in half.
The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, near Westgate Road, prompting the closure of Route 202 between Westgate Road and Viola Road (Route 74).
According to a report by The Monsey Scoop, a vehicle overturned and struck an electric pole, breaking it in two. Faist EMS, the Tallman and Suffern Fire Departments, and Ramapo Police all responded to the scene.

A busy roadway in Rockland County is closed to northbound traffic as crews work to repair a damaged utility pole, police said.
According to the Clarkstown Police Department, North Little Tor Road (Route 33) at New Hempstead Road (Route 80) in New City was closed Wednesday morning, Oct. 8, to allow Orange & Rockland Utilities to conduct emergency repairs.
The closure, which began around 10:30 a.m., is expected to last for up to eight hours, police said.

A fast-moving round of severe storms swept through the Northeast, spawning a rare tornado in New England and leaving a trail of downed trees, power outages, and canceled events in its wake.

Thousands of homes and businesses lost power across New Jersey on Thursday, July 3, as storms moved through the state, according to outage data from JCP&L and PSE&G.

Truck Crashes Into Wires, Causing Power Outage In Fairfield
A truck crashed into wires, causing dozens of businesses to be without power in Fairfield on Monday, June 30, authorities said.
The truck was exiting a business driveway when it struck low hanging wires, causing the chain reaction, Fairfield police said. The crash caused damage to eight poles and several of them broke, police said. The wires fell on parked cars, causing several to catch fire, police said.
