Pair Charged With Killing Prospect Park Man Who Was Beaten, Thrown In Passaic River To Drown
Two Prospect Park men were charged with the murder of another man whom authorities said they beat and threw into the Passaic River to drown.
Jorge Alcalde-Alfaro, 26, "was beaten up pretty good, but he was still technically alive when he got tossed in the river," an investigative source with direct knowledge of the homicide told Daily Voice at the time.
On Saturday, authorities announced that they'd charged Luis Salas, 27, and Jonathan Cristobal, 23, with the May 1 killing in Westside Park in Paterson.

U.S. Marine Bryan Perez Of Prospect Park Dies, 22
U.S. Marine Bryan Perez died on June 3 in South Carolina. He was 22 years old.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Perez moved to Prospect Park at 14 years old. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.
He is predeceased by his brother, William Ortiz.
Bryan Perez is survived by his wife, Briana Pantoja; his mother, Marelly M. Ortiz and his step father, Wilfredo Ortiz; his sister, Kaylee M. Ortiz; his in-laws, Wanda and Jose Pantoja; great aunt, Irma Crespo; and his godfather, Carlos Perez.
