Police have nabbed a Hudson Valley man for allegedly kidnapping a woman and her child after finding them being held at an area home. The incident began Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Rockland County when the Town of Ramapo Police received a report of a woman and child being held against their will at a location unknown to the caller, said Det. Arrest Made After Swastikas Found Inside Synagogue In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly scrawling swastikas and hate speech inside an area synagogue. Rockland County resident Rolando DeJesus Gomez-Velazquez, age 32, of Hillcrest, was arrested following an investigation into the incident which took place on Friday, June 17. In addition to the drawings and hate speech, Gomez-Velazquez allegedly also damaged several items inside the synagogue, said Det. Lt. Christopher Franklin, of the Ramapo Police. 4-Month-Old Boy Found Dead At Area Home, Police Say
Police are investigating after a 4-month boy was found dead at a home in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County in Monsey on Wednesday, Jan. 19, according to Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins, of the Ramapo Police. When police responded they found the child unresponsive, Higgins said. "There were no signs of foul play or trauma," Higgins said. A massive four-alarm fire at a two-story commercial building has closed a busy Huson Valley roadway. The fire, which started around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, in Rockland County at 83 Lafayette Ave., in Suffern, has closed the roadway from Chestnut Street to Washington Avenue, said the Ramapo Police. Fast-Moving Fire Destroys Home, Vehicles In Hudson Valley
Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a fast-moving fire destroyed their Hudson Valley home and two vehicles. The Rockland County fire started around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the Town of Ramapo at 987 Haverstraw Road in the village of Wesley Hills. According to Det. Sgt. A horse was killed after being hit by a car after it escaped its corral by jumping a fence onto a busy area roadway. The horse, which was killed on Route 202 in Rockland on Monday, July 26, lived on a farm in a more rural section of Ramapo, police said. Ramapo Police Lt. A man riding a bike in the Hudson Valley was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle, authorities announced. Man Injured In Deck Collapse At Hudson Valley Home, Police Say
One person has been injured after a second-story deck collapsed in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 14 in Rockland County at a residential home in the Hillcrest area of the Town of Ramapo.
