Two Cecil County families are grieving and bracing for what comes next after a beloved motorcycle rider was killed and his passenger critically injured in a crash earlier this week.
Velmer “Toot” Huff Jr., 63, of Elkton, died on Monday, May 12, after he and Tara Hammond, 43, of North East, were hit while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in Elkton, Maryland, according to Maryland State Police.

Dan Reale, a Manalapan native, was just two months away from marrying his high school sweetheart, Ally, when he was diagnosed with head and neck cancer, according to a fundraiser set up to support him.
Reale, who works for the Secret Service, had major surgery to remove and reconstruct a significant portion of his tongue and remove lymph modes in his neck. Next month, Reale will undergo daily radiation treatments in Philadelphia.

Jersey City Woman Survives Being Swept Into Pacific Ocean, But Her Recovery Won't Be Easy
Diana Torroledo, a Jersey City resident was swept into the Pacific Ocean while vacationing in San Diego last month
On Friday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m., Torroledo and her boyfriend, Ash, got swept into the ocean from a jetty, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said. Ash was rescued first and then Torroledo was found breathing, but unconscious, rescuers said.
The pair had gone to the end of the jetty to watch the waves, rescuers told NBC San Diego.

Rep. Norcross Transferred Out Of ICU
Rep. Donald Norcross, D-Cherry Hill, is out of the intensive care unit, his office announced on Tuesday, April 22.
Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District, was transferred out of the intensive care unit on Friday, April 18, his office said, as his health continues to improve.
“He has been successfully treated for his infection and has completed his course of antibiotic,” his office said. “The Congressman is on his way to making a full recovery."
