Firefighter, Resident Injured During Maryland Apartment Fire That Left Dozens Displaced More than a dozen apartments were deemed uninhabitable in Howard County and a firefighter was injured when a blaze broke out early on Saturday morning. At around 5:30 a.m. Howard County Fire and EMS crews were called to the 6000 block of Orchard Club Drive in Elkridge, where there was a reported fire in the area. Passenger Rescued From Crashed Vehicle On Saw Mill River Parkway In Hawthorne A person was hospitalized after being rescued from a crashed car on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester.  The incident happened on Saturday, June 22 around 12:15 a.m., when a car crashed on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway just north of Exit 25, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department. Arriving fire crews found that one person was still trapped in the car, which had crashed off the roadway. Firefighters then used hurst tools to extricate the passenger.  After the rescue, the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.  The cause of the crash was not released.
