A Bronx man trying to cash a fake check at a TD Bank in Bergen County took off running when police showed up — but he didn’t get far, authorities said.
Lamont T. Everett, 31, was arrested on Sunday, June 8, around 12:43 p.m., after employees at the TD Bank on Maywood Avenue reported a man trying to cash a fraudulent check, according to the Maywood Police Sgt. William Phayre.

Officer Injured By Woman Dining And Dashing In Hicksville, Police Say
A Long Island woman allegedly skipped out on a meal and injured a police officer who tried to arrest her in Hicksville, authorities announced on Wednesday, May 28.
Ruoqiong Shi, 29, of Plainview, ordered and ate at Potasia, a restaurant on 600 S. Oyster Bay Road, around 3:50 p.m., but left without paying, Nassau County detectives said.
