New Jersey State Police have arrested a Virginia man wanted in a fatal shooting, authorities said.
The 27-year-old man was arrested in Middlesex County, they said.
Gerard Roane, of Richmond, VA, was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing a man in Richmond on May 16, State Police said.
During the investigation, State Police detectives were contacted by the Richmond Police Department to assist with locating Roane. Through various investigative means, detectives determined that Roane was staying at a residence in Edison, NJ.

Body Of Boater Found, Friend Remains Missing After Going Over James River Dam
The body of one of two women who went missing on Memorial Day after going over Bosher’s Dam on the James River Dam in Richmond has been found, WSET reports. Her friend, however, remains missing.
The body of Lauren Winstead, 23, was found by the Richmond Fire Department about five miles downstream of the damn around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, the outlet reports.

Virginia Women Still Missing After Going Over James River Dam Memorial Day
Rescuers pulled 10 people from the James River after they went over Bosh Dam on Monday, May 30, but two women are still missing.
Lauren Winstead, 23, of Richmond, and Sarah Erway, 28, of Chesterfield County, haven't been seen since going over the 12-feet-high dam just after 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, Henrico police told the Associated Press.
Officials didn't say what kind of craft they were in, but witnesses saw rafts and paddleboards caught in the current beneath Bosher Dam after the incident.

Charlene Bohannon Lockley, 36, of Richmond and Toyre Jones, 34, of Chesterfield were driving through South Stafford on Wednesday night, May 18, when deputies pulled them over, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said on Monday. The agency did not say why they were pulled over.

A Virginia mother is refusing to give up on the search for her daughter, nearly six years after her disappearance.
Toni Jacobs, of Richmond, is holding out hope for the return of her youngest child, Keeshae Jacobs, who went missing on Sept. 26, 2016.
