Serious Crash Reported On Route 1 Central Jersey
Police, firefighters and EMS crews were responding to a serious crash on Route 1 in Middlesex County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 on Route 1 northbound South of the Morris Goodkind Bridge in New Brunswick, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Crashes Close Routes 1 & 9 In Central Jersey
Three separate crashes closed parts of Route 1 and Route 9 in Middlesex County, authorities said. The first crash involved an overturned dump truck and occurred at about 9:35 a.m. Monday, April 3, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Emergency construction and a missing manhole cover were causing delays on Route 1 in Middlesex County, authorities said. The problems were originally reported at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday,, March 16, by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Route 1 northbound in South Brunswick was partially closed due to a crash, authorities said. Police put out an alert at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, saying Route 1 near Northumberland Way would remain closed for another two hours. The route was reopened at about 3:30 p.m. The New Jersey Department of Transportation attributed the delays to "police activity." A developing report shortly before 8 a.m. said a pedestrian was involved in the crash.

Police say they've arrested a suspect believed to have been involved in multiple road rage incidents including "brake check" incidents over the course of three months. Woman Found Dead Along NJ Highway On Christmas ID'd By Police
Police have identified the person who was found dead near a Route 1 car dealership on Christmas as a 31-year-old Trenton woman. Stephanie Carmody's body was found in the northbound shoulder of 3466 Route 1 — a former car dealership — around 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, after multiple 911 calls were placed, West Windsor police said. A 51-year-old Jersey City driver was killed Thanksgiving night when his pickup truck flipped on Route 1 in Central Jersey, NJ Advance Media reports.
