A team of police officers rescued a trapped driver who’d been knocked unconscious Thursday when her car barreled down an embankment and into a wooded area between Route 9W and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The 63-year-old Cliffside Park motorist’s 2011 Toyota Corolla was in a precarious position after veering across the shoulder of northbound 9W, hitting a rock wall, vaulting into a tree and then careening down the embankment shortly before 9 a.m., Tenafly Police Capt. Police: Ridgewood Bicyclist Struck By Harrington Park Driver On Route 9W In Alpine
A bicyclist from Ridgewood was hospitalized after he was struck on Route 9W in Alpine by a car driven by a Harrington Park woman, authorities said. The 52-year-old bicyclist was headed north when the southbound driver, 22, turned her 2018 Volkswagen Jetta left at the entrance to the Palisades Interstate Parkway entrance shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Alpine Police Chief Christopher J. A drunk Bronx driver crashed and was captured near the George Washington Bridge after leading Tenafly police on a chase, authorities said. A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a rear-ender involving four other people on Route 9W in Englewood Cliffs, authorities said. The Merritt Island, FL motorcyclist told police that he was headed south on Sylvan Avenue when he had mechanical difficulty last Friday night, Detective Lt. Ronald Waldt said. Crash Involving State Trooper Leads To Road Closure In Area
A major roadway in the area has reopened following a crash involving a New York State Police cruiser. The crash took place early Thursday, Feb. 4, in Ulster County, on Route 9W in Milton, closing a section of the roadway for several hours, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Nevel did have additional information surrounding the crash, only that the trooper was "OK." Route 9W was closed in both directions between the Milton Turnpike and Willow Tree Road, but had reopened as of 12:30 p.m., Nevel said.
