A 51-year-old sheriff's officer in Gloucester County was indicted on charges he assaulted a juvenile while they were handcuffed, authorities announced Friday, Jan. 9.
On Thursday, Dec. 19, Charles Rudolph, while working as a school resource officer a forcefully pushed a juvenile’s neck, face, and chest onto a table while the juvenile was handcuffed, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said.
He was indicted on charges of official misconduct and endangering, abusing or neglecting a child, authorities said.

Multiple students were arrested after police said they got into a knife fight at a Waterbury high school on Wednesday, May 28.
The fight broke out just before noon at John F. Kennedy High School, 422 Highland Ave. The school resource officer, with help from other Waterbury police, broke up the attack, officials said.
Several students suffered minor injuries in the fight, but the school nurse was able to treat their wounds without further assistance, Waterbury police said.

A disturbing act of vandalism has prompted an investigation at Patriot High School in Nokesville after inappropriate images, including a swastika, were found inside a classroom.
The incident was reported to the School Resource Officer on Monday, Dec. 11, according to the Prince William County Police Department, and the officer discovered the symbols drawn on a partition inside the classroom, police said.
