An investigation into illegal firearms led to much more when police in Hampden County raided a home on Friday, March 10, authorities said.
Julias Cruz, age 20, and Robin Liberte, 45, both of Springfield, face more than two dozen charges combined after officers executed a search warrant for a home on Wilbraham Road, Springfield police announced on Monday.
Police began watching Cruz weeks ago on a suspected illegal guns investigation, authorities said. Liberte was also known to investigators. He was out on parole for a previous drug conviction, officials said.

A paramedic allegedly stole from a man killed in a car crash in Northern Westchester that he responded to, police said.
The crash happened in Yorktown on Thursday, Jan. 26, when a man, whose identity was not released, was critically injured and eventually died from his injuries.

A Warren County man banned from owning weapons was found with a slew of firearms and explosives, including dynamite, a hand grenade, and a machete, authorities said.
Jason D. Fretz, 54, was charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, contempt of court, and additional weapons offenses, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Two Phillipsburg men accused of possessing heroin and methamphetamine were arrested Friday, police said.
The drugs were found when Phillipsburg officers carried out a search warrant, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said.
