A belligerent Maryland man who repeatedly called 911 to report an assault ended up in handcuffs himself after police say he became belligerent and threatening.
Michael Cook Oswald, 52, of Lusby, was arrested after multiple calls to 911 late last month, claiming he had been assaulted and making concerning statements about potential violence, according to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

Suffolk County Police Officer Brendan Gallagher, critically injured in a DUI crash on the Long Island Expressway earlier this month, will be released from Stony Brook University Hospital on Monday, Jan. 27, officials announced.
Gallagher, a three-year veteran of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Street Takeover Task Force, was gravely injured on Sunday, Jan. 5, when a Ford Mustang driven by a suspected impaired driver sideswiped his vehicle, causing it to overturn near Exit 55 in the westbound lanes of the LIE, police said.

Stamford Driver Charged In Crash That Left Pedestrian With Life-Altering Injuries
A 28-year-old Fairfield County man is charged in a motorcycle crash that left a 24-year-old pedestrian with possibly life-altering injuries, authorities said.
Kevin Calle, of Stamford, is charged with second-degree assault and reckless operation in the October 30, 2024, crash, police said.
Investigators allege Calle was riding west on Tresser Boulevard in Stamford around 7:41 p.m. on a Kawasaki motorcycle when he hit 24-year-old Lucas Honohan, a New York resident, as he crossed the street, authorities said.
