South Jersey Man, 20, Killed In Weekend Shooting: Prosecutor
A 20-year-old man from Camden was killed in a weekend shooting, authorities said. On Saturday, Jan. 13, at about 6:30 p.m., Camden County police received a ShotSpotter activation for gunfire in the 800 block of Grant Street in Camden, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Police found Joel Maldonado suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, they said. Cape May County Man Killed In Atlantic City Shooting
An Upper Township man was killed in a late night double shooting in Atlantic City on Sunday, Jan. 7, authorities said. City police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 1100 block of Monroe Avenue just after 10 p.m., according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene. Kevin Gayle, Jr., 37, of Marmora was unresponsive. A 32-year-old man who attempted to kill the driver of a passing car next to a Worcester courthouse earlier this year will spend up to 11 years behind bars. James Freeman IV, of Worcester, pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including armed assault to murder, this week in connection with the Feb. 2, 2023 shooting, the Worcester County District Attorney announced. Man Shot, Killed On Albemarle St. In Springfield
Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Springfield that happened Monday night, Dec. 4. Officers were called to the 0-100 block of Albemarle Street just after 6 p.m. by a ShotSpotter alert, Springfield police said. When they arrived, they found a man bleeding from a bullet wound. He was rushed to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries, police said. Authorities did not release the victim's name.
