UPDATED: For the third time in U.S. history, a lottery game is nearing a $1 billion jackpot. The Mega Millions jackpot stands at about $970 million. The next drawing is Friday night. Hunterdon County Mother Of 4, First Aid Squad Volunteer Jamie Perez Dies, 37
Support is surging for the family of Jamie Lea Perez, a Hunterdon County mother of four and longtime first aid squad volunteer who died at home on Jan. 1 at the age of 37. Born in Somerville, Perez grew up in Lebanon Township and graduated from Voorhees High School in 2002, her obituary says. Perez was known for loving her family and friends, as well as for being a “country girl” with a passion for the outdoors, her obit says. A 65-year-old bicyclist who failed to stop at a red light in Somerset County was struck by an SUV with the right of way and hospitalized, authorities said. Hunterdon County high school graduate and father of two Austin Gary Williams died Nov. 9 at the age of 36. Williams was born Dec. 12, 1983 in Somerville and graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, his obituary says. A 63-year-old motorcyclist from Burlington County was killed in a Route 31 collision with a school bus over the weekend -- just more than nine years after his son died in a motorcycle crash.
