A 20-year-old Linwood man was arrested and charged after he evaded police while driving recklessly on an e-bike, authorities announced Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Fares Farhat, 50, of Halifax, was arrested Sunday, Aug. 4 and charged with 81 felonies including dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activities, forgery, and corrupt organizations, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele.

Pedestrian Killed Crossing Road In Suffolk County: Police
A 56-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Middle Island, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Robert Trombly was crossing the westbound lane of Middle Country Road near Tudor Lane when he was struck by a westbound 2021 Hyundai Sonata driven by Giovanna Cieslak, 19, of Coram, at 9:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, detectives said.
Trombly, of Middle Island, was transported by Middle Island Rescue to NY Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Cieslak was not injured.
