OH, Daddy: Hackensack Man Lied In ID'ing His Son As Hit-Run Driver, Teaneck Police Charge
UPDATE: A Hackensack man lied when he told police that his son was the driver of a hit-and-run pickup truck that struck and severely injured a Teaneck woman in a local shopping plaza parking lot, authorities said.
Edward O. Asante, 49, "initially told us his son was the driver," Police Chief Glenn O'Reilly said Friday afternoon. "He now admits to providing a false statement regarding his son being the driver."
The man behind the wheel of the 2014 Ford F-150 Thursday night was Lynval A. Francis, 49, of Englewood, who works for Asante and doesn't have a valid driver's license, O'Reilly said. …
Police: Unlicensed Driver, 37, Crashes Into Morris County Drainage Pipe, Flees
A Brooklyn woman was driving without a license when she crashed into a drainage pipe in a Morris County yard and fled the scene, authorities charged.
Sonia Martinez, 37, drove onto a private yard on Warren Avenue in Stirling and hit a drainage pipe around 11 a.m. Nov. 26, Long Hill Township police said.
Martinez drove away but was later apprehended, police said. She was charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and unlicensed driving.
Martinez is scheduled to appear in Long Hill Township Court.
Long Island Man Who Crashed Into Two Cars Drove Drunk With Girls In Vehicle, Police Say
A Long Island man was driving drunk with two girls on board when the vehicle crashed into parked cars, police say.
The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
According to Nassau County Police, Andre Isaac, 25, of New Cassel, was operating a 2003 Infiniti sedan on Earl Street in Westbury when the vehicle struck two legally parked vehicles.
At the time of the accident, two girls, ages 11 and 8 years old, were passengers in the vehicle, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers observed Isaac in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, he had impaired motor functions and…
