The rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles in North Jersey hit Saddle Brook, among other towns, this past weekend. Most of the eight vehicles burglaries were in the north end of town on or near Colonial Avenue, Police Chief Robert Kugler said. Two juveniles from Passaic were stopped by police as they were attempting to burglarize a car in Nutley Thursday, not long after other reported vehicle break-ins in the township, the department said in a statement. The two, aged 14 and 16, were caught at Raymond Avenue and Cedar Street after a short chase. The two had a North Face backpack containing a Chrome Book computer that matched the description of items belonging to a Cedar Street resident.
