Two Wilton Running Club Girls Qualify For Junior Olympic Nationals WILTON, Conn. -- Two Wilton Running Club girls qualified for the U.S. Junior Olympic National Championships at last Saturday’s New England Regional meet in Augusta, Maine. Angela Saidman finished fourth in the 13-14-year-old division and Tess Pisanelli finished 16th in the 11-12 division. Both girls will compete in the Junior Olympic national championship race on Dec. 13 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Greenwich Football Team Looks To Keep Playoff Hopes Alive FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Brien McMahon High’s football team can secure a state playoff berth Thursday when it visits archrival Norwalk High School in their annual Thanksgiving Day game. Pound Ridge Rowers Win Multiple Medals In Fall Regattas POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Pound Ridge residents Kris Petreski and Liam McDonough capped a fantastic fall season of rowing by helping the Norwalk River Rowing’s Men’s Youth 4 Plus Coxswain to a fifth-place medal at the 50th Head of the Charles in Boston. The Head of the Charles is a major international regatta featuring 11,000 athletes in 2,252 boats. It involved 776 clubs and schools from 29 countries. The Men's Youth Plus 4 race featured 85 teams. Dogs Parade At New Canaan's Village At Waveny Care Center NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- More than a dozen of Waveny’s canine friends and their owners recently paraded down “Main Street” at The Village at Waveny Care Center to the delight of patients, residents and adult day program participants. Included among the contestants was Blue, an Australian miniature shepherd whose owners are Debbie Perron, director of volunteers, and her husband, Jeff. 2 Norwalk Packers Cheer Teams Win New Englands, Advance To Nationals NORWALK, Conn. -- Two Norwalk Packers cheerleading teams scored victories in the New England Regional Championship on Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.
