Bridgeport Man Charged With Leaving 7-Year-Old In Hot Car In Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was arrested in Stratford after leaving his son in a hot car with the windows up on Sunday, according to the Connecticut Post. One Person Injured In Shooting On Richmond Hill Ave. In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. — One person was injured in a shooting on Richmond Hill Avenue in Stamford on Sunday, according to the Stamford Advocate. The shooting was reported at around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Ann Street, the Stamford Advocate reported. New Canaan Police Make Arrests For DUI, Drugs, Assault At Checkpoint NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan Police held a sobriety checkpoint this weekend where three people were charged with driving under the influence, three were charged with drug possession, one was charged with drinking while driving and one was charged with assault. Two Homes Hit By Lightning In Monroe MONROE, Conn. — The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department certainly had a busy day on Friday, but were able to respond to seven calls that included two homes struck by lightning, a basement fire and a shed fire, with the help of surrounding fire departments. No Fatalities But Lots Of Tickets Issued On CT Highways For Holiday Weekend FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Connecticut State Troopers have issued hundreds of tickets over the past few days, and will continue to heavily patrol roads and highways through Independence Day. Two Found Guilty Of Murder In 2015 Stabbing Death Of Bridgeport Barber BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Two people were found guilty in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old Bridgeport barber who was killed in a home invasion in 2015, according to the Connecticut Post. Rowayton Restaurant Employee Charged With Stealing From Safe NORWALK, Conn. — An employee of a Rowayton restaurant was charged with stealing more than $1,000 from a safe in the restaurant's office in May, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that the manager of Sails Bar and Grill in Rowayton reported that $1,150 had been stolen from the restaurant's safe on May 31.
