Norwalk Police Make DUI Arrests During Memorial Day Weekend NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk police made four DUI arrests and issued a number of citations during Memorial Day weekend. The Norwalk Police Department held a DUI checkpoint on West Avenue from Saturday night into Sunday morning, and conducted DUI patrols throughout the city over the weekend. Hamden Man Accused In Darien Of Punching Girlfriend DARIEN, Conn. -- A Hamden man was arrested in Darien after he was accused of repeatedly punching his girlfriend, police said. Anthony Knox, 25, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer. Cash Stolen In Break-In At Barber Shop In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone broke into a barber shop in Darien last week and stole cash, police said. Employees of Johnny's & Company on Heights Road arrived for work at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, and discovered that cash had been stolen from a locked drawer, police said. A total of $415 was taken, police said. It appeared that someone had broken in through the front door, as there fresh pry marks on the door frame and some slight damage to the door, police said. Car Stolen From Darien Driveway, Suspicious Men Seen In Area DARIEN, Conn. -- A car was stolen from a driveway in Darien near where two suspicious men were seen looking through people's mailboxes, police said. A 2011 Subaru Outback was taken from a driveway on Greenleaf Road sometime between 4 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Woman Charged With Having Pot, Pills At Compo Beach In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Stratford woman was arrested in Westport after police said she was found in a car at Compo Beach with drugs in her possession. Sarya Nieves, 20, was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to keep a prescription in its original container, police said. Four Norwalk Teen Girls Charged With Attacking Mother, Daughters NORWALK, Conn. -- Four girls were arrested and another was hospitalized Monday after police said a group of teenagers attacked a mother and her two daughters at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. The four girls -- all between the ages of 14 and 16 -- were charged with breach of peace and conspiracy, police said. Each was issued a juvenile summons. Norwalk Police: Stamford Man Stole Truck, Then Returned It NORWALK, Conn. -- A Stamford man was arrested after police said he stole a truck belonging to Home Depot in Norwalk and brought it back the next day. Jose Rodriguez, 31, was charged with second-degree larceny. He was held on $5,000 bond and will appear in court June 4.
