Monroe Library Serves Up Dinner And A Movie For Teens MONROE, Conn. -- The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in Monroe will host a teen “Dinner and a Movie Night,” on Friday, Dec. 11. Teens in grades 7 through 12 will enjoy macaroni and cheese and a film after-hours in the library. Registration is required, and limited to 16. Black Rock Plans Tree-Lighting Event Sunday BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Black Rock Community Council will host its 2015 tree-lighting at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Bridgeport. The lighting will be held at St. Ann Field, 481 Brewster St. A wassail party will be held immediately following the tree-lighting at the S.S. Health Care Aide Charged With Fleecing Stamford Woman With Alzheimer's STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 36-year-old Bridgeport home health care aide was charged with fleecing of an 81-year-old woman with advanced Alzheimer’s disease out of more than $25,000, Stamford police said. The Stamford Police Department Financial Crimes Unit arrested Philliann Barnett on larceny and credit card theft charges on Tuesday, Dec. 1, officials report. Officers in the Financial Crimes Unit undertook the case and quickly discovered that Barnett had committed numerous acts of fraud, which led to losses of over $26,000 to her victim, police said.
