Toms River Man Stole Boat Engine: Lakewood PD
A 41-year-old Toms River man was arrested and charged with stealing a boat engine in Lakewood, authorities said. On Thursday, April 23, officers responded to Traveling Tykes Marina after a Mercury boat engine was removed from a vessel owned by the marina on Lake Carasaljo, Lakewood police said. An investigation identified William Cottrell as the suspect and he was arrested and charged with burglary and theft, police said.

Nine people have been charged following two separate police eluding incidents involving ATVs, dirt bikes, and bicycles in Central Jersey earlier this month, police said. Lincoln Technical Institute at Bergen Town Center in Paramus was briefly placed on lockdown on Wednesday, May 20, after a security guard reportedly left a firearm unattended and was unable to locate it, police said. An Iselin man was arrested after police say he used brick pavers to smash car windshields across multiple Union and Middlesex County towns during a six-day vandalism spree involving 67 vehicles, police said.
