'Inexcusable' Surprise Found In Traveler's Carry-On Bag At Albany International Airport For the fourth time this year, security screeners stopped a man from carrying a loaded gun onto a plane at Albany International Airport. Agents made the discovery during a routine x-ray screening of the traveler’s carry-on bag Tuesday, Aug. 15, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced. 'Heinous Crime': Man Who Raped 10-Year-Old At Capital Region Home Gets Decades In Prison A 70-year-old man from the region could spend the rest of his life behind bars for raping a young child. Albany County resident Eric Edwards, of Watervliet, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in Albany County Court on Thursday, Aug. 17. It followed his jury conviction for first-degree rape in June 2023. According to prosecutors, Edwards raped a 10-year-old child at a home on 4th Avenue in Watervliet in February 2020. Hudson Valley Fisherman On Hook After Making Hundreds Off Illegally Sold Trout, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly made hundreds of dollars by illegally selling wild caught trout. Orange County resident Robert Everett, age 55, of Cuddebackville, was arrested in July 2023 for allegedly violating the state’s Environmental Conservation Law. According to the Orange County DA’s office, Everett sold the trout on multiple dates in May 2023. Man Lures Teen Into Car, Attempts To Sexually Abuse Victim At Capital Region Store, Police Say A 48-year-old man’s attempt at sexually abusing an underage teen outside a convenience store in the region has landed him behind bars, police said. Saratoga County resident Joseph Kohler, of Clifton Park, is facing multiple charges stemming from the alleged encounter, which occurred Saturday, Aug. 12, in the Town of Halfmoon. Man's Body Found In Capital Region Park; Cause Of Death Revealed Authorities have revealed the cause of death for a man whose body was found in a park in the region. The discovery was made shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Albany County at Cohoes’ Heart Avenue Park, located near Heartt and Park avenues. Cohoes Police said the 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body showed no obvious signs of trauma and there was no indication of foul play, according to investigators. 'Forever Changed': Support Rising For Woman Killed In Hit-Run Crash On Busy Long Island Road Lydia Ciminelli began Monday, Aug. 7, by heading to an exercise class on Long Island, but the 72-year-old never made it.
