Enfield Man Gets 20 Years In Prison For Southington Motel Sexual Assault A Connecticut man will spend the next two decades in prison for sexually assaulting a woman at a Southington motel and violating a protective order, state prosecutors said.  Jeremy Figueroa-Gerena, 35, of Enfield, was sentenced last week to 30 years in prison, suspended after 20 years served, followed by 25 years of probation, according to the Office of the State's Attorney.  The charges stem from a 2024 sexual assault in Southington. John A. Masanotti Jr., 71, formerly of Dairen, was ordered to serve 90 months, followed by three years of supervised release, said US Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Chester Man, 62, Killed After Snowmobile Slams Into Stump, Trees On Vermont Trail Authorities have identified the 62-year-old Connecticut man who was killed over the weekend when the snowmobile he was riding crashed into trees.  Kevin Smith, of Chester, Connecticut, was killed around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, on VAST Trail 513 in Stannard, Vermont, state police said. Authorities said he drifted off the trail and crashed into a stump, which threw him from the snowmobile and into multiple trees. Authorities attempted life-saving measures but were unable to save his life. Vermont State Police do not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the crash.
