Derek Curtis, of Pawcatuck, was involved in an 11:30 a.m. crash on I-95 near Exit 89, Connecticut State Police said. Investigators say Curtis crashed his BMW X3 into multiple road signs, a light pole, and several other objects, causing the car to roll over and eject him. Curtis was the only person in the vehicle. Police ID Bristol Man Killed After Crashing Into Utility Pole Authorities say a 31-year-old Connecticut man has died after crashing his car into a utility pole in Bristol. Jonathan Edward Whittle, of Bristol, was driving on Broad Street just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, when he drove off the road and struck the pole, authorities said.
