At 1:40 a.m., firefighters responded to a blaze on Ocean Avenue after a Long Branch police officer noticed heavy smoke near the Breakwater Beach Club, the Monmouth Beach Fire Department said. Long Branch firefighters found heavy fire conditions at the single family home and a second alarm was tolled, firefighters said. No injuries were reported, firefighters said.
