Man Stole From Deli Tip Jar: Mount Olive PD A 48-year-old North Bergen man was arrested and charged with stealing money from a tip jar at a deli in Flanders on Tuesday, Nov. 11, authorities said. At 3:03 p.m., officers responded to Route 206 Bagels and Deli at 240 Route 206 after Mohammad Salem took $21 from the tip jar on the counter and left the store, Mount Olive police said.  Salem was located at Wawa on 194 Route 206, police said. He had an active warrant out for his arrest from Passaic County, police said. He was charged with theft of moveable property, police said.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle: Absecon PD A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Absecon on Tuesday, Nov. 11, authorities said. At 7:38 p.m., officers responded to a fatal crash at Route 9 and California Avenue, Absecon police said.  The driver remained on scene and assisted with the investigation, police said. The identity of the pedestrian has not been revealed and police did not say how the crash occurred. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
