Trailer Overturns On Black Horse Pike: Gloucester County OEM An overturned trailer is snarling traffic on the Black Horse Pike in Berlin on Wednesday, Nov. 12, authorities said. A commercial equipment trailer overturned on Route 42 northbound at the Berlin Cross Keys Road intersection on the Black Horse Pike and Route 42, the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management said. County Hazmat is on scene and Route 42 northbound is closed, OEM said. Drivers can expect delays and are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while recovery crews clear the roadway, OEM said.

Student Brought Loaded Handgun To School: Newark PD A 17-year-old was taken into custody after bringing a loaded handgun to a Newark school on Wednesday, Nov. 17, authorities said. At 9:06 a.m., police responded to Great Oaks Charter School at 17 Crawford St. after the boy attempted to enter the school with a handgun, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The student set off the metal detector and a metal detector wand before the loaded handgun was discovered in his book bag, Miranda said. He was taken into custody without further incident, Miranda said.
