Newark Woman Forced Girl Into Prostitution: Essex County Prosecutor Four women have been arrested and charged with trafficking a 17-year-old girl in Essex County, authorities announced Tuesday, Oct. 14. The girl, reported as a runaway, contacted law enforcement last month seeking help, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said. Detectives determined the girl had been trafficked and forced to engage in prostitution, Stephens said. A multi-agency investigation led by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office identified four women involved. Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Route 9 In Marlboro: Prosecutor A 70-year-old Totowa resident was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning on Route 9 in Monmouth County, Oct. 11, authorities said. At 7:33 a.m., Marlboro Township police responded to Route 9 and County Route 520 after Sherrill Sakas was struck by a Honda CR-V while attempting to cross from the southbound to the northbound side of traffic , Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
