Orange Man Killed After Crashing Into 2 Trees On Route 280: Njsp A 79-year-old Orange man was killed in a crash on Route 280 on Sunday, Sept. 14, authorities said. At 12:57 a.m., troopers responded to Route 280 east in Orange after a Honda SUV veered off the roadway, struck a mound of sand, overturned and crashed into two trees, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Joel Sterling, the driver of the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
