E-Bike Rider Killed In Crash: Franklin Twp PD An e-bike rider was killed in a crash in Franklin Township Saturday, Aug. 15, authorities said. At 1:28 p.m., officers responded to Route 27 and South Middlebush Road after a person was riding an e-bike south on Route 27 when it collided with a vehicle making a left turn, Franklin Township police said. The victim, an adult man, was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said. Their identity has not been released by polcie. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

Reckless Rockaway Driver Drove Drunk: Denville PD A 56-year-old Rockaway woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Denville, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 17. At 11:34 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 13, officers observed a moving violation on Route 53 and conducted a motor vehicle stop, Denville police said. The driver, Bianca Kaye, showed signs of impairment and she was suspected of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, police said. Kaye was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor or drugs, careless driving, reckless driving and other traffic infractions, police said.
