Norwalk's Redd Suffers Major Knee Injury In NFL Preseason Game NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk's Silas Redd suffered an apparent season-ending knee injury Thursday in the Washington Redskins' preseason football game against Cleveland. Redd is believed to have torn the anterior cruciate ligament and possibly the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, according to The Washington Post. Peekskill Legend Elton Brand Retires After 16 Years In NBA PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill High grad Elton Brand retired Thursday after 16 years in the National Basketball Association. Brand was the first draft pick of the Chicago Bulls in the 1999 draft. Brand also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks. Brand was a two-time NBA all-star, but injuries limited his playing time later in his career. He averaged 24.6 points per game for the Clippers in 2005-06, the best of his career. He averaged 11.6 rebounds for the Clippers in 2001-02. For his career, he averaged 16.1 points and 8.6 rebounds. …

Casey Foley Keeps Up Family's Basketball Tradition At Fairfield University FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Ardsley's Casey Foley was featured on the Fairfield University women's basketball website as one of the freshman to watch during the upcoming season. Foley starred at Ardsley High School, where she was named the Class B Player of the Year by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Foley scored 22 points for Ardsley in 61-39 win over Westlake in the Class B semifinals.
