Wilton Wahoos Send 36 Swimmers To YMCA Nationals WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Y Wahoos will send 36 swimmers to YMCA Nationals next week in Indianapolis. Wilton swimmers include Robby Giller, Courtney Gilroy, Emma Holmquist, Stephen Holmquist, Emma Kauffeld, Maggie Kauffeld Jake Kealy, Natalie Larsen, Will Suchy, and Katrina Trentos. In addition 5 swimmers will also be competing at Junior Nationals from July 30-August 3 in San Antonio, Texas. Wilton swimmers include Emma and Stephen Holmquist.

Norwalk River Rowing Crews Pile Up Medals At National Regattas NORWALK, Conn. -- Eight members of Norwalk River Rowing Association’s Youth Team recently won a bevy of medals in two of the country’s more prestigious crew events. At Philadelphia’s Independence Day Regatta, held annually on the historic Schuykill River’s 2000-meter course, Olivia Clark of Norwalk won a gold medal in the Women’s Under 19 single event. Clark is a recent graduate of Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. Antonio Oliveira Sr., 89, Lived In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- Antonio Oliveira Sr. of Ossining died on July 24. Oliveira was born on Oct. 28, 1924 in Porto de Mos. Portugal. He was 89. He is survived by his wife Julia Oliveira and four children: Maria Leonor Neto, Antonio Oliveira Jr., Armanda Martins and Jose Oliveira. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining on Tuesday, July 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday July 29 at 10 a.m. at St Ann’s Church. Interment to follow at St Augustine’s Cemetery.
