Rowers, Parents From Norwalk Club Run Race In New Haven NORWALK, Conn. -- Girls and parents from Norwalk's Connecticut Boat Club traded their oars for running shoes on Monday as they ran in the Stratton Faxon New Haven Road Race. The annual tradition to kick off the fall racing season saw about 25 girls and several parents run in the 5-kilometer or 20-kilometer race. CBC, one of the top all-girls rowing programs in the nation, is coached by Liz Trond. The team won a silver medal at the USRowing Youth Nationals in June in the Women's 8+. Scarsdale Congressman Applauds Store That Stops Selling Tobacco WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel, (D-N.Y.) a member of the Subcommittee on Health for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, applauded CVS Health for ending tobacco product sales at its 7,700 stores nationwide earlier than expected. Ridgefield Schools Name New Assistant Superintendent RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Karen Berasi has been named the assistant superintendent of special services in the Ridgefield School District, according to a story in The Ridgefield Press. Berasi had previously been the district’s director of special education and pupil personnel services. Superintendent Deborah Low recommended the restructuring, the story said.
