Traffic Builds Early For Friday's Rush-Hour Commute In Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Traffic delays for Friday afternoon's commute are building early on Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County. An accident on the Merritt Parkway north on the Greenwich/Stamford border occurred at 2:52 p.m. to help start the the commuting headache. The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported on its Traffic Incidents website that the Merritt was congested for 27 miles from Exit 27 in Greenwich to Exit 48 in Fairfield. Bronxville's Cain Wins 3,000-Meter World Junior Title BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bronxville’s Mary Cain won the 3,000 meters Thursday, July 24, at the World Junior Championships in Eugene, Ore. Cain ran a personal best 8:58.48, two seconds ahead of runner-up Lilian Rengeruk of Kenya. It was the first world title for Cain, who now trains in Eugene under former U.S. distance running star Alberto Salazar. Fairfield Police Seek Help To Find Baseball Field Vandals FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield police are seeking help from the community to find vandals who spray-painted the scoreboard and dugout at Mill Hill Elementary School, the home of the Fairfield American Little League baseball program.
