Norwalk Babe Ruth Baseball Teams Advance In Tournament NORWALK, Conn. – Four Norwalk Babe Ruth teams advanced in an Xtreme Baseball Tournament last weekend, with two teams taking home pool play honors. The Norwalk 13X went 3-1 in pool play, while the 15X team went 4-0. The 14x 8th grade team and Norwalk 14x high school team finished second. The high school team's only loss was a 1-0 decision to Arlington, Mass. All four teams advance to the championship rounds beginning Saturday in Wappinger Falls, N.Y. Blind Greenwich Triathlete Races For U.S. In Pan American Championships GREENWICH, Conn. – Just 18 months ago, Amy Dixon was fighting weight gain, diminishing vision and minimal motivation to get fit. Young Darien Runners Training For Charity 5K In Stamford DARIEN, Conn. -- Students of Darien’s Let Me Run and Girls on the Run after-school programs are training for Sunday's Hope in Motion 5K, a charity event benefiting Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center. The 5K and 10K runs will take place Sunday, June 1, at 8 a.m. in downtown Stamford’s Columbus Park. New Canaan Woman Makes Waves In College Steeplechase NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The first time New Canaan’s Stephanie Benko ran the steeplechase as a competitive event, she got a taste of the dangers as a teammate clipped a barrier and took a face-plant on the track. “She rolled over and kept on running,’’ Benko said. “But it freaked me out a little bit.” Her teammate’s unfortunate fall has not deterred the Lafayette College runner.
