New Canaan Runner's Marathon Journey Nets $12K For Autism Speaks NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Paula Muller of New Canaan had 12,000 reasons to run last year’s New York City Marathon. The race was canceled due to Superstorm Sandy, but Muller’s commitment to raise awareness for autism has remained steadfast. On Sunday, Muller will run her second New York City marathon and third overall. She raised $12,000 for Autism Speaks before last year’s race. Stamford-Based Arena Gymnastics Wins First Meet Of Season STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford-based Arena Gymnastics started its competitive season with a big win at the Muriel Grossfeld Invitational held at Southern Connecticut State University. Arena took top honors in the Level 4 competition with a score of 182.525, outdistancing second place Gymnastics and Cheer of Connecticut at 179.75 and third place finishers New England Gymnastics Express at 176.625. Edward A. Massoni, 89, Former Croton-On-Hudson Resident CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Edward A. Massoni, a former resident of Croton-on-Hudson, died on Oct. 13 at Vassar Brother's Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was 89. The son of the late Louis and Catherine Briggi Massoni, Edward was born July 31, 1924 in New York City. Massoni was a retired bookkeeper for Safe Flight Instrument Co. in White Plains.
