Fairfield Giants Tackle Dinner Prep For Operation Hope FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Members of the Fairfield Giants Junior Midget Football team took a night off from practice to prepare dinner for the residents of Operation Hope. The players from the Fairfield Pop Warner team prepared 50 full-course dinners for the facility. Operation Hope runs an 18 bed shelter for men, a five- bed shelter for women and a two-unit shelter for families, a community kitchen and a food pantry. Operation Hope is at 50 Nichols Street in Fairfield.

Ridgefield Runners Tackle Marathon To Support Sandy Hook Family RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – When Ridgefield native Susan Olsen runs the Marine Corps Marathon for the fourth time with her brother-in-law, Jeff Warner of Ridgefield, the race promises to be the most emotional, and memorable, of any her previous 26.2-mile journeys. Rebecca 'Betty' Pickover, 93, Longtime Yonkers Resident YONKERS, N.Y. -- Rebecca "Betty" Pickover, a long-time resident of Yonkers, died on Sept. 20 at Bayside Manor in Keansburg, N.J. She was 93. She was a resident of Yonkers for many years, most recently residing at 5 Star Classic Residence. She was active in many activities, including Senior Kids, the Community Relations Committee, the Yonkers Public Library, and was given the honor of being Mayor for a Day.
