Redding, Easton Voters Tackle Issue Of Barlow's Stadium Renovation REDDING AND EASTON, Conn. – Many residents of Redding and Easton would agree that the sports stadium at Joel Barlow High School needs a facelift. But can a proposed renovation get the approval of a majority of voters? Redding and Easton voters will go to the polls Sept. 24 to vote on a plan to make significant improvements to the stadium. The planned improvements would cost $3.272 million, shared between Redding (55 percent) and Easton (45 percent) residents. Financing would come through a 20-year bond that would cost taxpayers about $27 per year. The group supporting the project, Barlow …

Scarsdale Teen Takes Fast Track To Top Of Triathlon Mountain SCARSDALE, N.Y. – After three triathlons, Scarsdale’s Christine Hu can call herself a national champion. It’s not a reach to believe more could be on the way. Hu, 14, won her age group in the Hy-Vee IronKids Championship last month in Des Moines, Iowa. The race consisted of a 300-yard swim, 8-mile bike ride and 2-mile run. Hu finished in 43:14, 31 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Hu saved the best for last, running the final 2 miles in 13:35. Norwalk Triathlete Races Twice At World Championships NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s Nick Logan placed 34th in the Sprint Distance triathlon at last week’s International Triathlon Union Age Group World Championships in London. An '80s prom night will be held at the Stamford Italian Center on Saturday, Sept. 21, beginning at 8 p.m. as a fundraiser to battle breast cancer.
