Kenneth J. Gallo, 76, Long-Time Resident Of South Salem SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Kenneth J. Gallo, 76, a long-time resident of South Salem, N. Y., died on Aug. 22 in Charlestown, R.I. Gallowas born in Bronxville and attended schools in Tuckahoe and Eastchester. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Iona College in New Rochelle and worked for 21 years for Continental Can. He later owned a laundromat and liquor store, worked for the Internal Revenue Service and became a real estate broker. He was married to his wife, Carol, for 55 years and enjoyed spending time in Florida, Rhode Island and Vermont. He enjoyed time with family, fishing and gardening. …

Greenwich Hospital Conducts Prostate Cancer Exams GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich Hospital will conduct a two-part event in September to help men detect prostate cancer in its early stages. The first part is a free PSA blood draw from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 12 or Sept. 16. Men can stop in to the Greenwich Hospital outpatient lab. No registration is required. Westport Little League Loses Final Game At World Series WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport’s late comeback in its final game at the Little League World Series came up short as Mexico defeated the New England champions, 15-14, in the consolation game Sunday at Williamsport, Pa. Westport finished fourth in the tournament and completed the summer with a record of 21-3. It lost to California on Saturday in the U.S. championship game. Westport Falls To Calif. In U.S. Little League Title Game WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport Little League’s magical summer came up one game short of winning the championship of the United States. Chula Vista, Calif., struck for three runs in each of the first two innings Saturday and went on to beat Westport, 12-1, in the U.S. title game in Williamsport, Pa.
