Westhill Athletes Rewrite History At State Track Meet STAMFORD, Conn. – Claire Howlett and Billy Thibault rewrote history for Westhill High School at the State Open track and field meet Monday. Howlett won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races, and Thibault won the pole vault for the Vikings. They are believed to be the first athletes from the school to win the events at the State Open. Thibault was tied with two other vaulters with the top jump in last week’s class meets at 14 feet, 6 inches. The senior cleared 15 feet Monday. Zumba Fundraiser For Westport Group Planned In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. – A Zumba fundraiser to support CLASP Homes and conducted by the Mid-Fairfield County Association of Realtors will be held June 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Intensity in Norwalk. CLASP Homes is a local, not-for-profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities. Money raised at the fundraiser will be used for portable generators for CLASP, which is based in Westport. Boynton worked as an assistant for the past 10 years for the Lancers under several coaches. He is the team's third head coach in three years. Triathlon Season About To Hit High Gear For Norwalk Athletes FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – When the calendar flips to June, so does the calendar for triathlons in Fairfield County. Some enterprising athletes have ventured elsewhere for their initial races of the season, and the Housatonic Valley Sprint Triathlon in Danbury on May 11 got the local season started.
